The on-line application is the preferred method of applying to the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. Applications are reviewed for spring and fall admission terms. Applications submitted after the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

It is against school policy to apply to more than one program/department at the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) per term. Multiple application submissions will be discarded. If you have questions, please contact the Office of Graduate Student Services at for clarification.

(*The priority deadline for the Financial Engineering M.S. program is December 1. Spring admission is not available for this program.)

U.S. citizens applying for assistantships, loans, and work-study should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

International students residing outside the United States must file an application for admission six months in advance of the term in which they wish to enroll in order to receive a visa in time for registration.

Application Fees

A non-refundable application processing fee of $60 is required of all applicants. Failure to submit the application fee will delay the processing of your application.

Application fees can be paid by credit card using the online application system. A personal or a bank check drawn on a US bank or a US Postal Money Order payable to Columbia University is also accepted. International money orders are not acceptable.

Any application fee that is not accompanied by an application or supplemental materials must include a note with the following information:
