Message from the Assistant Dean
Congratulations on your admission to Columbia University's Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science. Our Admission Committees spent countless hours reviewing application files, and you should feel extremely proud of your accomplishments and achievements. We hope that you will decide to attend Columbia University to pursue your graduate education, as we believe that you possess the skills and knowledge to be successful in our environment. While at Columbia, we will provide you with outstanding resources which will help you to make an impact on our rapidly changing society.
Deciding which graduate school to attend can be a difficult task. You must weigh many options, including opportunities for research, laboratories, faculty resources, and location. We hope that you are gathering all of the necessary information so that you are able to make the most well-informed decision possible. You must make a decision based on the "fit" between you and the institution. We sincerely hope that you recognize the potential for a comfortable "fit" at Columbia, and we will do everything possible to insure that you have a positive experience here.
To this end, we hope that this Web site will help inform your decision. We have provided links to academic and other campus resources, New York City, information on our orientation program and a new student checklist. I encourage you to check this site periodically over the next several months, as this is where you will find up-to-date information on SEAS.
If there is any additional information that I can provide for you during your decision-making process, please feel free to contact me at (212) 854-6438.
Congratulations again. I hope to see you on campus soon.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Simon
Assistant Dean
