Class of 2004 Arrives

The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science's popularity continued to increase among high school seniors as it recorded the highest number of applications ever. The Engineering School received 2,429 applications, a 6% increase over last year's all-time high. By the time the Class of 2004 was complete, the selectivity rate was 27% and the average SAT score for the class was 1409.

"Our selectivity for the School puts us in the ranks of the most select engineering schools in the nation," said Eric Furda, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. "The increase in applications is actually staggering when you consider that in 1993, the School received 1,218 applications and, in seven years, we have almost doubled that number."
