Homecoming 2005
After seven days of rain, the sun came out on Baker Field for HOMECOMING
2005. The day began auspiciously, with throngs of Lion-happy students,
alumni and friends enjoying the barbecue luncheon under the tent, including
Gloria Reinish ’45, ’48, ’74 (upper left). Pete Szabo ’68
(photo upper right, below) came from California for his annual
Homecoming reunion with friends, including Ta Li ’69, who came
from Colorado. The brightness of the sun brought the promise of success,
as did the appearance of the new lion mascot (right). While the Lions
racked up yardage and fought the good fight, the final score was Quakers
44, Columbia 16. Columbia engineers headed to the Remmer Boathouse
for the traditional after-game party, hosted by the Columbia Engineering
School Alumni Association. Greg Basso ’68, former CESAA president,
(left in the photo, lower right) and current CESAA President Ron Mangione ’69,
right, enjoyed the wood-paneled room and the companionship of friends
and classmates, which helped ease the results of the game.
