STORY
As part of Columbia Video Networks Eye on Japan
series, Dean Zvi Galil traveled to Tokyo to interview Dr. Kouji
Ohboshi, chairman of NTT DoCoMo, called by Business Week the
most advanced wireless Net access service on the planet. The
interview is available on videocast through CVN and Newport Asia
Pacific University (NAPU). NTT DoCoMo employs 20,000 people world-wide,
has a market value of $139 billion, and had operating revenues of
$37 billion last year. To see
the interview, go to the CVN
home page.
While in Japan, Dean Galil hosted a reception at the Hilton Tokyo
for SEAS alumni, both young and old, CVN students, and representatives
of NAPU and several Japanese companies. He renewed his acquaintance
with Dr. Yoshiro NakaMats, shown in the photo near right in the
Engineering School tie. Dr. NakaMats delivered the first Eye
on Japan lecture and holds the worlds record for
the most patented inventions. He is shown in the photo with Dr.
Takeshi Nagano 55, former president of Mitsubishi Materials
Corp. and currently president of The Engineering Academy of Japan.
Eye on Japan will host additional lectures during
the next academic year that will be videocast via CVN.
