October 2 Homecoming Ends 250th Celebration

Columbia ends its 250th anniversary year with a special celebration for Homecoming weekend, October 1 and 2, when the Lions take on the Tigers at Baker Field on Saturday, October 2. Family-friendly activities, including face-painting and amusements, will be featured prior to kick-off.

As the year continues, a variety of seminars will be offered that are open to all Columbia alumni. To register for any of these events, go to the special 250th anniversary website, www.C250.columbia.edu. Click on the REGISTRATION button at the top of the page to sign up for any of the following seminars or lectures.

A four-part history series, Our Past Engaged: Four Turning Points in Columbia’s Recent History, will be conducted each Wednesday in April. Lectures begin at 6 p.m. in Low Rotunda. Check the website to register.

World-class scholars, including Klaus Lackner, Ewing Worzel Professor of Geophysics, will discuss Earth’s Future: Taming the Climate in a two-day symposium, on April 22-23, in Roone Arledge Auditorium. Leading neuroscientists will discuss Brain and Mind at a two-day seminar on May 13 -14 at Miller Theater.
