On Friday, September 25th @ 11:00AM EDT, we welcome Dr. Daniel Haders (SEAS '01) as he presents, "Digital Health: The Future, Today."

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

We stand in the middle of the greatest global healthcare crisis in 40 (HIV) to 100 (Spanish Flu) years, the greatest American civil rights movement in 50 years (Voting Rights Act), the worst global economic crisis in 90 years (Great Depression), and the greatest population health opportunity since the invention of the small pox vaccine over 200 years ago. Building more expensive hospitals and labs to treat patients and discover drugs will not capture this opportunity.

For the first time since clean water, we have the opportunity to develop healthcare solutions leveraging software and data that can improve outcomes and lower costs. A recent CB Insights survey asked what technologies will have the greatest long-term impact on healthcare, post COVID-19 – 88% responded that it would be software and data – i.e. Digital Health. The remaining 12% thought it would be therapeutics, which are now being discovered with software too.

In this talk we will review the landscape of Digital Health from the Opportunity to the Disruptors to the Funders and discuss what the future may hold.
