Cameron Terry

Cameron Terry is from Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated in June 2016 from the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy with distinguished honors. At Columbia, Cameron plans to major in Computer  Science with a focus on artificial intelligence and minor in psychology. He also aspires to pursue research and entrepreneurial opportunities.

In high school, Cameron’s academic concentrations were math and science. He was a multi-year state finalist participant in the Michigan Science and Engineering Fair and Intel Corporation’s selection for their Excellence in Computer Science Award for the state of Michigan. Cameron was also a member of the robotics club and quiz bowl team and competed in several regional, state, and national STEM competitions. Additionally, Cameron spent his summers furthering his STEM-oriented interests by participating in engineering camps and academic opportunities at various universities.

Outside of his academic pursuits, Cameron held a leadership position in student government and was a member and team captain of his high school’s varsity cross country, track & field, and soccer teams. Being an avid soccer fan, he was also a standout member of the Saginaw Cyclone club soccer team, which achieved a top-10 state ranking and national recognition status. Cameron also participated in mentoring and community service projects and worked as a teaching assistant for a university-sponsored math program for at-risk students.

In his free time, Cameron enjoys reading, spending time with family, and socializing with friends. He is a music enthusiast and also spends time engaging in computer programming projects and app development.
