Join the Office of Global Programs and Fellowships for this information session on the new 2017 Global Scholars Program: "Media Practices in India and China!" In this six week summer comparative research course conducted in Mumbai and Beijing, students will explore, study, and compare local media cultures firsthand. Students will visit sites of media production, exhibition, and consumption as well as meet with a wide array of media practitioners in order to study media in relation to (post)colonial conditions, authoritarianism, oppositional politics, urbanization and globalization.
Taught by Columbia professors Ying Qian and Debashree Mukherjee, the program is open for course credit to rising juniors and seniors in all Columbia undergraduate schools. Generous financial aid is available. Applications due in early December 2016.
Lunch will be provided during the information session. Please email Jiyeon Glass at [email protected] if you plan to attend.
