Latest Podcast: How Can AI Help Us Prepare for A Changing Climate?

For more than 50 years, climate models have done an excellent job of projecting broad impacts of global warming. But they haven’t been able to tell us precisely how, where, and when those impacts will hit, which limits our capacity to adapt to climate change. Now, thanks to a $25 million five-year grant from the National Science Foundation, Columbia University and partners have launched LEAP, a new center designed to build better climate models for a safer planet.

On this podcast, Pierre Gentine, director of LEAP and professor of earth and environmental engineering, and Galen McKinley, affiliate professor of earth and environmental engineering, explore how upgrading climate projections will help communities prepare for the future.
