Dr. Bae is a national leader in minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preservation technology, artificial spinal disc replacement, and non-fusion technologies. As a leading researcher in stem cell repair of spinal degenerative disc disease he has been extensively published in top journals and presented at many national and international meetings.

Dr. Bae was among the first to use growth factor tissue engineering for intervertebral disc regeneration, multi-level artificial disc replacement for treatment of degenerative disc disease of both the lumbar and cervical spine, and other novel medical devices for the development of minimally invasive spine surgery.

Dr. Bae earned a bachelor’s degree in biomechanics from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 1990. He earned his medical degree, cum laude, from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and a complex spine surgical fellowship at Case Western Reserve Hospital in Cleveland.

Dr. Bae has been an innovator in the field of orthopaedics. He is the inventor of many patents and medical devices. Dr. Bae's contributions encompass both clinical practice and pioneering research, making him a key figure in advancing the field of orthopedics, especially in the areas of spine surgery and innovative medical devices. His entrepreneurial spirit has led to the successful development and acquisition of companies that have made significant contributions to the healthcare industry.
