Stellic
Stellic is a degree auditing & advising tool that allows students and advisers to view and plan progress towards degree completion.
Stellic is live for all undergraduate and all MS Engineering students. Stellic access to other students will be coming in the future, and students will be notified via email once their access has been enabled.
How should I use Stellic?
Stellic can be used visually to see what degree requirements have been completed. Examples include which major core courses have been required, or one’s progress toward completing school-wide requirements (i.e. the undergraduate core).
Registration will continue to occur in Vergil, and will sync to Stellic overnight. All course data does live within Stellic, though, for the purposes of degree planning.
What can I do within Stellic?
Stellic can be utilized to build a plan of study. Students can plan out their degree in its entirety by ascribing planned courses to future terms, and could, in practice, flesh out their entire course plan semester-by-semester to fulfill their degree audit’s requirements. Undergraduate programs include pathways, recommended degree sequences as reflected in the Columbia Engineering Bulletin.
Within Stellic, beyond viewing one’s progress, students can request exceptions to their degree audits. For example, if a student has discussed a plan of study with their advisor alternate to the approved degree track, they can make a request to alternate their audit’s constraints appropriately.
Who should I reach out to if I have questions?
Students should direct questions and concerns regarding degree planning and fulfillment to their advisor. Students requiring additional technical assistance may reach out to [email protected].
Students with broader or general questions about Stellic and its interface are encouraged to explore the Stellic Knowledge Base.
