Bolun Xu joined Earth and Environmental Engineering as an Assistant Professor in January 2020.
Bolun Xu focuses on sustainable energy systems and works towards a reliable and economic decarbonization in the energy sector. His research interests are on energy system planning and operation, and electricity market analysis and design for emerging decarbonization resources.
Bolun Xu received his BS from Shanghai Jiaotong University, MS from ETH Zurich, and PhD from University of Washington Seattle, all in Electrical Engineering. Prior to Columbia, he was a postdoc associate at MIT Energy Initiative and Lab for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS), in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
