Gene is the Procurement Manager for the Columbia Nano Initiative (CNI) Department.

Prior he was a Financial Analyst for 10 years with CUF & the Supervisor for Events & Administration including the Labor Shop with Campus OPS for 3 years. He has an MS from CU in Landscape Design & a BBA from Baruch College. He was President of Pro-Fed Office Outfitters for 10 years & EVP/CEO of Nationwide Office Products for 12 years. As an aside, Gene was a child actor who among other things had the honor of playing the son to three iconic legends. They include film and stage actor Yul Brynner, as the Crown Prince in “The King and I” on Broadway and at the London Palladium for a period of over two years; in the world of opera, he was the young child (Trouble) of Jose Carreras, one of “The Three Tenors” (Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Carreras) in the New York City Opera’s Madama Butterfly & he was the son of comedian and Oscar nominee Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi of “The Karate Kid”) in “Mr. T and Tina” the first Asian-American prime time sitcom in TV history. An avid fisherman, boater & fan of herpetology & entomology he also has a 42 year old turtle.
