Jeff DeMars

Jeff joined Columbia University in 2017 as Program Coordinator for the MRSEC. In his role, he oversees the MRSEC’s outreach and education programs and supports the research and collaborative activities of the MRSEC. 

Prior to joining Columbia, Jeff spent four years as Public Relations Coordinator for the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations, where he managed special events, press and public relations activities, expanded the Mission’s outreach initiatives, and assisted diplomats and other dignitaries in navigating public information matters at the UN. He previously spent time with the Center for Japanese Economy and Business at Columbia Business School and the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C.

Jeff holds an MPA in Urban & Social Policy from Columbia University, and a BA in International Relations and East Asian Studies from the College of William & Mary.
