Jessie Taft

Associate Director, Research Center Operations

As Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships at Columbia Engineering, Jessie is responsible for helping to establish and maintain strategic collaborative research partnerships for the school’s research centers and initiatives.

Jessie Taft is the Associate Director of Research Center Operations in the Office for Research. In this role, she helps to launch, scale, and maintain effective operations for large-scale research collaborations across Columbia Engineering.
Jessie collaborates closely with staff of Columbia Engineering’s research centers and initiatives to develop and implement best practices for Center management, partnerships, compliance, and other functions. She works with offices across the University to coordinate support for these critical initiatives. 
Jessie has worked in research administration and program management for over ten years. She has a BA and MPS from Cornell University, both in Information Science. During her academic career, she co-authored several research papers on the ways people interact with AI systems (like smart home devices) and how online platforms (like Facebook and dating apps) impact the ways people interact with each other.
