Michele Hoos
Executive Director of Communications
As the Executive Director of Communications at Columbia Engineering, Michele leads a dynamic cross-functional team responsible for managing all external and internal communication efforts.
Her portfolio spans media relations, marketing, public relations, executive and crisis communications, and the strategic initiatives that advance the School's research and educational mission and its vision of Engineering for Humanity.
Michele brings more than 15 years of communications and marketing leadership in higher education. Before joining Columbia Engineering in 2020, she was Director of Communications at Cornell Tech, where she helped launch the billion-dollar campus through an integrated, multi-platform communications strategy.
She holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Cornell University. She began her career as a high school English teacher.
