Managing Director, Center for Learning the Earth with Artificial Intelligence & Physics

Molly Lopez, MPH, MSc, is Managing Director for LEAP (Learning the Earth through Artificial Intelligence and Physics) a National Science Foundation-funded Science and Technology Center.

In this role, Molly supports a team of scientists and staff in their work to improve climate projections in order to enhance climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as to spread climate change knowledge  through educational and knowledge transfer programs. Prior to joining the LEAP team, Molly led programs and administration at the Flatiron Institute, a computational science research center. She has also worked extensively in public health leadership roles at New York City Health + Hospitals, Montefiore Medical Center, and Columbia University Medical Center. Molly began her career in journalism, and still enjoys writing about a range of topics. Molly earned her Masters in Public Health from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, and her Masters in Global Affairs from New York University.
