Mona Naser
Financial Operations Manager
Mona is a financial analyst who just completed her first full year at CNI (Columbia Nano Initiative), even though she’s been working with CNI for over five years, four of which she was a work-study.
Mona is a Barnard College alumna, who majored in psychology. Her degree helps her daily when working with vendors, students, professors, and all other staff. Prior to working at CNI, Mona worked with BEAM (Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics) for over 10 years serving low-income students of color. While working at the nonprofit she interacted with both parents and students recommending different programs and participating in fundraising. During her tenure at BEAM, she was a teacher’s assistant and created activities for the students. BEAM has another program that runs throughout the year, which Mona was also a part of, assisting teachers and students with high school and college applications. BEAM has been an essential part of Mona’s career journey, and she is still involved with their fundraising events.
