Sheela George
Program Administrator in the Department of Electrical Engineering
Dr. Sheela George is the program administrator of the CoSMIC Lab in the Electrical Engineering department.
Dr. George received her Ph.D in Biomaterials and gained research experience from some of the prestigious institutions in academia, including the New York University, Hospital for Special Surgery, Stony Brook University, UC San Diego. She has more than 10 years of research experience and more than 6 years of administrative experience. She has published and contributed to many publications over the years.
Dr. George transitioned into administration in 2017 and has worked in Columbia University in a managerial, research support, or administrative role since 2018.
In her current role, Dr. George assists in preparing research grants for DARPA, NSF etc., develops budgets, plans spending, and prepares financial reports on grants, among other responsibilities.
