Zhuo Zhang

Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science

Zhuo Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Columbia University. His research focuses on software and systems security, with an emphasis on building secure, reliable, and auditable software systems in both traditional and AI-driven settings.

Before joining Columbia, Zhang received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University, and his B.Sc. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University through the Zhiyuan Honors Program. At Columbia, his group works toward making software systems more secure by construction, more transparent under audit, and more resilient in the presence of increasingly capable AI agents.

Outside academia, Zhang has been active in capture-the-flag competitions, open-source development, and real-world security research.
