Mr. Gaspar is principal of Gaspar Global Ventures, an early-stage investment company focused on technology, media, and business services. Recently retired as partner and co-founder of SV Investment Partners (formerly Schroder Ventures US), Mr. Gaspar has been a private equity investor since 1981, conducting business in 31 countries around the world. Prior to joining SV Investment Partners, he was a partner at Warburg, Pincus & Co. and co-founded the Lauder Gaspar Funds. He has served on the boards of directors of 25 public and private companies, including Bridge Communications, Central European Media Enterprises, and Direct Group. His success in the investment world was preceded by 11 years of operating management and engineering experience in electronics, computers, and communications with RCA Corporation and Raytheon.
 
Mr. Gaspar is a member of the Columbia Alumni Association where he chairs the Egleston Committee and has been a member of every reunion committee for his class since graduation. He also chairs the Society of Columbia Graduates, which, for the past 102 years, has given out the Great Teacher Awards. In 2004, he was awarded the Alumni Medal. He earned his BS in electrical engineering from Columbia in 1969. He also received an MS in computer science from Northeastern University as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1973.
