Fast Pitch Competition Winners

Columbia University’s Fast Pitch Competition is designed to help participants master the art of the elevator pitch, where they have 60 seconds to present their business idea to a panel of judges.

First place graduate winners in the Fast Pitch Competition — Jacqueline Deprey ‘26MBAxMS, served as the team lead for Perpetua, with member Shruti Das ‘26SIPA. They earned 1st place in the Graduate category. Perpetua is a software product for executors managing digital estates.

Fast Pitch Audience Winners in the graduate category hold their check — Siwakorn Komolhiran ‘28SEAS, served as the team lead for Babble, with member Sanay Shethan. Babble is an app for thinking, noting, and coding.

Engineering Mechanics PhD Student Wins Three Awards

Ph.D. student Tymon Nieduzak won first place in both the Best Paper Awards and the Student Poster Competition at the Society of Plastics Engineers Automotive Composites Conference & Exhibition. His prototype was also awarded the Most Innovative Production Part Award in the Material Innovation Competition.

Biomedical Engineering PhD Student Spotlight

PhD candidate Cheng “Gavin” Gong is designing and studying advanced imaging devices that make biological systems more accessible by being more scalable and easier to use.
