Columbia Engineering Parents Council

Columbia Engineering Parents Council

The Columbia Engineering Parents Council is a leadership society for parents and families who are dedicated to advancing the Engineering for Humanity vision through philanthropy and engagement. Members of the Council play an essential role as partners with School leadership, ambassadors for parent philanthropy, and builders of a welcoming, vibrant community. Parents Council membership comes with exclusive benefits, including special recognition through events, publications, and communications.

Members are an integral part of shaping the School’s future by:

  • Collaborating with the Parents Council chairs and the dean of Engineering.
  • Attending two meetings per year: On campus during Family Weekend, and one on Zoom or another region in the spring.
  • Serving as knowledgeable ambassadors for Columbia Engineering within their communities.
  • Participating in and hosting special events with fellow parents, faculty, and the dean.
  • Supporting or sponsoring student internships or externships.
  • Encouraging and demonstrating parent philanthropy with a minimum annual gift of $10,000 or a Dean's Circle gift of $25,000+.

"It is a privilege to serve as the chairs for the Columbia Engineering Parents Council. We have two children currently at Columbia and they are both thriving. We value the Parents Council for bringing us closer to other families who are dedicated to supporting Columbia Engineering. We look forward to meeting many of you at the fall and spring Parents Council receptions, and we are grateful for your philanthropic leadership during October Giving Day and March Pi Day."
