Faculty Promotion & Tenure
Columbia Engineering follows a rigorous and careful process to foster and recognize faculty development through promotion.
The Columbia Engineering Promotion and Tenure Committee (PTC) is responsible for the review of promotion and tenure of all faculty at Columbia Engineering, on either the tenure track or non-tenure track. The PTC is advisory to the Dean and designed to maintain quality of review, ensure a timely consideration of nominations and consistency of the process to help the school to further propel the development and advancement of our faculty.
Membership of the PTC consists of five (5) full professors serving three-year terms who are appointed by the Dean. Members have expertise central to the defining themes and foundational areas of our core mission of Engineering for Humanity.
