Searches & Hiring
Each fall, and in consultation with the Department Chairs, the Columbia Engineering Dean approves a finite number of full-time faculty hiring lines based on an assessment of departmental needs.
Overview
Full-time faculty searches are subject to university policies established by the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action, and guidance provided by the Office of the Dean.
A limited number of faculty hires may also be made through the Target-of-Opportunity program established by the Provost’s Office.

Columbia University administers faculty searches through the Academic Search & Recruitment (ASR) module on the web-based Interfolio platform. Faculty search ads are posted to ASR; once applications are submitted, the platform allows Search Committee members to review applications within the platform. Members of the hiring committee will need to request Academic Search and Recruiting (ASR) access here before accessing Interfolio here.
